About This Project

Classroom teachers are looking to use technology to connect their students to other classrooms around the world. The educational benefits of globally connected teaching and learning are many; students learn about cultures, practice language skills, and develop collaborative skills through project-based learning. Increasingly, teachers using the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for creating interdisciplinary activities that help students become problem solvers.

One of the challenges is finding partners for classroom activities. This directory will help educators find each other and determine if there are opportunities for collaboration. Please encourage others to add their information here!

Kids2Kids Change the World

The Kids2Kids program aims to sculpt the hearts and minds of globally-competent children by helping them become more aware of the world around them and gain the confidence to solve both local and global problems on their own. We exchange video letters with peers in other countries to give children the opportunity to expand their horizons and to challenge their preconceptions and unconscious biases as they learn how to communicate with others in a culturally-sensitive way, encouraging them to become proponents for change on key issues that have widespread impacts around the world.

I am the Technology Integration Specialist at our school, working with students in grades K-5. My school is just outside Washington, DC, in historic Alexandria, VA. At my school, we are proud that we have a dual-language partial-immersion program in Spanish and English. About half of our student population are native Spanish speakers. We are excited to connect with other K-5 classes around the world, especially those with whom we can practice Spanish and English. I am particularly interested in co-developing podcasts and sharing them with each other, but open to any projects in which our kids can connect.

We have done Mystery Calls in the past and a few one-time connections with classrooms in other locations, and we are eager to connect more with other schools this year. We would love to schedule a number of Mystery Calls this year, we are participating in the Global Read Aloud this fall (reading Front Desk), and we are open to other connections. We study Colonial American and the American Revolution and would be interested in connecting with classrooms that study these topics as well (or are in key locations for these time periods). We also study immigration (past and present-day) in the springtime. Looking forward to making new connections this year!

We are new to Global Project Partnerships; however, we are an IB World school that is very much invested in obtaining and maintaining global partnerships. Our school mission is to inspire inquiring, engaged, knowledgeable, and caring secondary students who are multilingual, culturally competent, and committer to proactively creating a socially just and sustainable world.

I teach MYP English Literature and Language Year 3 (8th grade). Within our curriculum, students have an opportunity to delve into what it means to be a global citizen through the inquiry process. Thus, it is important for my students to experience as much interaction with individuals from different customs and backgrounds as possible to increase the likelihood that our students would exemplify the goals and mission of our school.

Hi! My name is Jennifer Bergmann and I teach 3rd and 4th grade at a small Catholic school in Missouri! Our whole school consists of approximately 60 students ranging from ages 2-14. We service students from grades Kindergarten through 8th grade and we also provide child care services in the nursery for ages 2-3 and we have a preschool program for children ages 4-5. We attend adoration (prayer time) in the church every Tuesday and we go to Mass where we learn about God and sing songs every Thursday. Our school teaches the core subjects: English-Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We have special classes that involve: Religion, Physical Education, Art, Music and Library. The classroom teacher also teaches Computer Technology each day.
