WALT: craft clear sentences

This week we are focussing on crafting clear sentences. We are trying to write as clearly as possible, so that our readers will understand what is happening. Our rules:

A sentence contains ONE main idea

​

The girl sat on the bench and gazed at the park.

​

The girl sat on the bench and gazed at the park and then she got up to see her mum, then she went on her scooter and then she went to bed.

​

A sentence contains enough information to make sense on its own

​

The boy watched as the ball flew through the air.

Flew through the air.

​

Write a sentence based on the image. Remember a sentence only contains one idea, so DONT write a whole story, just a sentence. You can make some things up - name the people etc.
