Tools Required

A couple sizes of each screwdriver is helpful, but not essential for this task.  One #2 Phillips screwdriver will suffice for most tasks and certainly for disassembling the Gene Cafe Roaster.

Screwdrivers found in most households will do just fine.

There are eight (8) screws to remove from the bottom. The two (2) in the middle are very shallow, the three (3) at the top are deeper and the three (3) screws at the bottom are the deepest.

  1. The middle screws are shorter than the others.
  2. There are only seven screws because I did not take my own advice of putting them in a container and lost one.

Again, you may wish to use something to keep from losing the screws.

Flip the Gene Cafe back over and orient it with the back of the unit toward you.  Lift the the top piece and rotate it toward the front.  The only thing that is attached are the two plugs of wires in the front.
