“in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;” (2 Corinthians 11:26)

“Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?” (2 Corinthians 11:29)

  • The servant serves when they are tired, busy, weak, etc!

The Seriousness of Service

  • It is a serious responsibility because the servant works with God and His kids
    • “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.” (1 Corinthians 3:9)

  • The servant is serious in all aspects of service
    • Prayer, preparation, attendance, phone calls, communications, meetings, gifts, etc.

  • The servant is always in church attending and participating in all services

  • The First miracle was The Wedding of Cana of Galilee

Spiritual Meditation on, “Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim” (John 2:7)

  • The jars were filled to the brim
    • The servant should be filled with the Holy Spirit and knowledge before pouring onto others
    • The servant should not spiritually empty or shallow

    • The servant takes care of Earthly needs in addition to spiritual needs

  • Jesus used many parables to deliver his message
    • The sower, the lost denarii, the prodigal son, the lost sheep, etc.
  • The servant reaches everyone according to their level
  • Everyone has a talent

“When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”” (Luke 7:13)

  • As the Lord had compassion on the Widow of Nain, the servant has compassion on whom they serves

  • Jesus taught His disciples the Heavenly Prayer and the servant cannot be successful unless they are active in prayer

“He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.” (John 21:17)

  • The servant is soft and gentle in their reproach with others
  • The servant does not judge, scream, yell, curse, etc.
