Our Purple Folder is

our Take Home Folder

One homework assignment will be given to a student to complete at any time during the week. All homework is due on Friday!

In order to keep the children organized, they will be bringing home a plastic folder every night. The left side (dog side) will be only for homework, any special notes, corrected tests, etc. that I need to get to you. You should also use this side of their folder when sending things in for me. It will be your child’s job to check it every morning. The right side (star side) will hold all the papers that they have completed.

Take Home Tuesday

Every Tuesday students will get a Take Home Tuesday folders that contains information regarding the school, classroom, and/or community.

​

Not all THT papers are in the folder. All information can be found online at the Level Green Website.

Reading

We are starting a new reading this year called Open Court.

ECRI Phonics

  • This program focuses on phonics skills such a decoding, blending, sight words, and fluency. We will be using this program each day for 30 minutes.

Spelling

  • This doesn’t start until Unit 3

​

  • There will be a test at the end of the week– usually Fridays.

​

  • Spelling Words can be found online and in their purple folder.

Math

  • We have several math units and will do a new lesson every day.

  • When the units are completed student will be tested on those topics.

  • Quizzes will be given throughout the topics.

Chromebooks

  • Students will get a Chromebook this year.

​

  • We will be using the computer at school and at home instruction if needed.

  • They will go home every night. Please charge the computer EVERY NIGHT! The chargers can be kept at home.

​

  • We will login using Clever Cards (a unique QR code that will contain your child’s login information so no typing is required!)
