Mr. Jimmy Bergin

I’m crazy about music, any kind of music! I love teaching at BART because I get to share music I love with you, and even more importantly, learn about the music you love that I probably haven’t heard yet)! I studied viola and composition at the New England Conservatory of Music, and also worked for one-on-one for many years with some amazing musicians in the Boston area. I love to windsurf even though I’m super old; I’m especially excited about my 8-month old grandchild; and my two cats are kind of a blast when they’re not zoned out in the catbed.

Ms. Alana Mazza

Hello! I studied studio art with concentrations in illustration, art history, and education at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. I teach 2D art, 3D art, and technology. My favorite classes, as well as my favorite mediums to work in, are painting, drawing, and ceramics! This will be my 7th year here at BART. When I am not teaching or making art, I enjoy cooking, baking, embroidery, and exploring with my 2 ½ year old daughter Vivienne, who is honestly one of the funniest people I have ever met!

Mr. JP Okin

I teach STEAM, Technology and Photography. This is my 14th year at BART. Ever since I was a kid I loved to make things so I got a degree in Architecture from the University of Toledo, then in Technology Education from Bowling Green State University, and in Science Education from Western Governors University. I love to travel, SCUBA dive, and build things. I’ve renovated 3 houses and built my current house from the ground up. I love being a guncle to my 6 nephews and 2 nieces. My partner, Jim and I have 2 dogs and 27 chickens. We’re thinking about getting some goats next.

Ms. Steph Rice

Hey there! I teach computer science, 3D art, Technology, and STEAM, which includes Python, 3D printing and more. I went to Westfield State University where I studied Art Education for grades 5-12. In my own art this year I’ve been focused on watercolor flowers and landscapes. For fun I like to play video games like League of Legends, play board and card games, build legos, go mountain biking, bake new recipes, play with my two puppers, and with my 5 year old kiddo. I look forward to meeting you!

Ms. Karin Stack

I studied art at Wesleyan in Connecticut and at Colorado State. I love to build things, play piano and accordion, and I spend a lot of time mountain biking. In my artwork right now I am working on drawing and painting landscapes of rusty pools and derelict buildings. Some of my favorite classes to teach are Digital Art, AP Drawing, and yearbook. I especially love working with the Arts and Tech Team when we build sets and props for the plays. My little brown dog is named Juno.

Ms. Alexia Trainor

Hi! I teach Improv, Acting, and Playwriting. I went to school in New York City where I studied acting and when I returned back to the Berkshires I started a theatre in North Adams called Main Street Stage. I especially enjoy improv theatre because I like to make up crazy characters on the spot. In the picture below I am dressed up as a clown named Mambo where I perform for children all over the Berkshires. I love acting, but I also like to do anything outside and play pretty much any team sport. I have two young boys and a dog named Winston that keep me busy when I’m not working. I’m super excited to meet you!
