Our Amazing Art History Program
AP Art History offers a comprehensive overview of the history of art from Prehistory to the present. We study the art of every region in the world, placing it within the historical and cultural context of a specific time and place. The course is open to 11th and 12th graders only.
Living Art: After the AP exam, students re-create well-known art works by posing as the figures, a project based on the “Pageant of the Masters” held each summer in Laguna Beach, CA. Here are a few of last year’s Living Art projects:
Anna Wright posing as the figure from Jeff Koons’ Pink Panther
Natalie and Nicole Knox as Renoir’s Two Young Girls at the Piano
Claire Lange-McPherson, Joanne Yu and Athena Xue as Judit Rita Raboczky’s Energetic Human Figures
