-Cerulli: Believes that eating animals that are purchased leaves an absent referent, meaning we never face the animal we are eating and therefore never give them respect. Believes hunting to be better and less painful to animals than farming procedures that occur even to grow vegetables.

NY Times: Trophy Hunting: A NY Times articles explains, that trophy hunting is one of the primary sources of funding for conservation efforts. The four types of North American sheep are a prime trophy hunting target. Tags for these hunts go up to $250,000.

Schmidtz: Banning animal hunting specifically in Africa has been shown to not solve any problems. In fact, banning hunting creates problems. In “Roosevelt’s time there were 100 million people in Africa, and today there are 450 million.

Vitali: To hunt a confined animal is not moral. A hunt becomes moral (“fair chase”) when the hunter, for example, eschews guns for arrows, feels and supports a commitment to conservation efforts, and hunts in an animal’s natural habitat. Hunters must respect the life they have taken.
