Florida Connection
In 1916, Ransom E. Olds purchased 37,541 acres on the northern tip of Tampa Bay to design a planned community. The property appealed to Olds because of its proximity to several other towns (including Tampa and Tarpon Springs) as well as being located on the Seaboard Railroad.
