Why Invention Bootcamp?

  • Design and make your own inventions using high-tech equipment
  • Meet and work with high school students from across the Portland Metro area
  • Connect with industry experts and entrepreneurs to learn about their invention process
  • Work closely with college students from PSU, who support you with your project
  • Explore what college is like and build your resume
  • Discover how to program, build circuits, and use tools like:
    • Milling machine
    • 3-D printer
    • Laser cutter

When:

  • June 22nd - July 17th, 2020 (4 weeks total)
    • Typically, Monday - Friday, 10 am - 3:30 pm

Where:

  • Portland State University’s Engineering College
  • Transportation options will be provided as needed*

Cost of Program:

  • Offered at no cost to you and daily lunch provided ($1,000 value)

What’s Required:

  • Application
  • Response to two questions: (any format) Why are you interested in IB? Tell us about a time you committed to something?

Question Format/Criteria

You can choose the format for each of your responses. Your choices are:

  • Short essay (250 words or less)
  • Short video (2 minutes or less)
  • Other creative response of a similar size

�If in essay or written word format please copy and paste your response into the application form. If it is a google document or some shared document, please just link the document in the space provided for your answer, but be sure to give us permission to view the document.
