Scholarship vs Bursary

Scholarship:

  • Financial reward or aid to a student
  • Recognizes achievement → marks, athletics, leadership and/or community involvement
  • Some may involve supplementary applications
  • Can be for financial need
  • Amounts may vary

Bursary:

  • An allotment of money granted to students who can demonstrate academic success but who also have financial needs
  • Amounts vary - also available during the degree or diploma program

These awards are available for students to apply in the spring. They are community based and centrally located for easy access on the Awards Hub portal.
