Organized

Gather all of your supplies and check to be sure you have everything you need.

  • inexpensive earbuds
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 3-ring pencil/supply pouch
  • 1 pack of loose leaf paper
  • 2-inch binder
  • 5-pack of tabbed plastic dividers with pockets
  • pencils (at least 24)
  • 1 composition notebook
  • 2 black fine point Sharpie markers
  • 10 pack Crayola markers
  • 12-pack of colored pencils
  • 2 EXPO LOW ODOR dry erase markers
  • 1 sock to use as an eraser
  • 1 pink eraser

If you don’t see it in this picture, you don’t need to buy it for 6th Grade!

  • Set aside a gallon-sized baggie or an old supply pouch.*

  • You are going to be putting some extra supplies in this baggie for later.

*Miss B will provide a baggie for extra supplies on the first day of school if you need one.

Please bring your tissues to school.

Give them to your 1st Period teacher.

Let’s organize your supply pouch first …

Get these items ready and please FOLLOW THE STEPS IN ORDER!

Take the cardboard packaging out of your supply pouch and throw it away.

Place your colored pencils and sock on the bottom of your supply pouch.

Put pencil top erasers on 5 of your pencils … IF you have erasers. They’re optional.

Place your 5 pencils inside your supply pouch.

Put the rest of your pencils and pencil top erasers in your extra supply baggie.

Take out …

2 red pens

2 highlighters

2 EXPO markers

1 Fine Point Sharpie

Put your Sharpie, 2 red pens, 2 highlighters and 2 EXPO markers in your supply pouch.

Put the extra pens, highlighters and markers in your extra supply baggie.

If your earbuds don’t have a case, please put them into a small baggie.

Place your earbuds into your supply pouch and …

Zip it up!

Open the rings of your binder USING THE LEVER at the bottom and put ONE pack of notebook paper onto the rings with the margin at the TOP.

NEVER pull the rings!

ALWAYS use the LEVER(S)!

  • Open your 5 Tab Plastic Dividers with Pockets.
  • Take out the white labels.
  • Divide the labels into 5 joined parts.

  • Write one subject on EACH SIDE of an index tab as shown.

  • Fold each tab in half along the perforated lines so that the names are facing out.

Pinch each index tab and slide them into each divider in the order you see at the right.

The color of your dividers may be different.

That’s FINE!

The order of the folders--top to bottom--is the important thing.

  • Open the rings of your binder.

  • Put your dividers on TOP of your notebook paper.

  • Put your supply pouch on TOP of your dividers.

Slide your schedule into the front of your binder (if you have a clear cover; if not, put it in the front pocket).

YOU’RE DONE!!

Bring your binder to school EVERY time you come and take it home with you EVERY time you leave the building.
