Will be wind exposed when tree 4 is removed, has no taper, low live crown ratio, codomimant stems, no laterals to reduce to fix structure due to tall spindly form; will be replaced

“2300 Mason Street #4” �

Old decay and heavy end weight, poor union, old wound wood in old crack, could fail at any moment; can be replaced once basin is shifted away from underground gas line

Summary

  • DPW Tree data is inaccurate, especially GPS points and street address
  • Tree #4 does not protect Tree #3 from the wind
  • 2310 Mason St #1 (aka “2300 Mason St #4”) was recommended for removal 4 years ago by the $500K Citywide Tree Survey
  • 2300 Mason St Tree #3 was deemed OK by the 2017 Citywide Survey

Hearing officer:

Delete 2300 Mason St #3 from the Removal Order --- it’s been protecting itself from the wind and according to the Citywide survey is an OK tree.

Order BUF to correct the GPS and other information in their database for the trees at 2300 & 2310 Mason St

  • All matters relating to trees

INSTEAD

Use the DPW tree database to:

  • Print Paper tree posting notices
  • Type up the Tree Removals website
  • Print Removal hearing announcements
  • Print Removal hearing agendas
  • All matters relating to trees

The database contains the official tree information such �as address, species, GPS, tree inspection comments, etc.

9 months earlier (recent DPW photos show the tree gone)

“80” Junipero Serra Blvd --- DPW database GPS shows trees in a� different location (DPW looking into this)

1119 Rhode Island St --- incorrectly posted as 1119 De Haro � (DPW agreed to repost this tree)
