Spring has definitely sprung! Our new study topic is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Each week you will get a Google Slideshow with a new letter to practice, as well as books, activities, and songs to use related to this theme. Complete the activities that are of interest and work in with your family’s routine at this time. Language Arts Letter Rr (every day)

Letter Rr: Watch a letter Rr song by clicking on the pictures, then practice writing the letter Rr. You can do this with chalk, crayons, pencils, in sand, etc. If your child knows the letter Rr, they can try writing words with the letter Rr in it. Start an Rr word collection by drawing Rr words, cutting out pictures from magazines or taking pictures of objects that start with Rr. Add to this all week.

Language Arts Reading and Writing

Tuesday: Practice writing your name. If you know how to write your first name, can you write your last name? Your family member’s names? / Practica escribiendo tu nombre. Si sabes cómo escribir tu nombre, ¿puedes escribir tu apellido? ¿Los nombres de sus familiares?

Thursday: Draw a picture of something you did today. Have someone help you write a sentence about what you drew. / Haz un dibujo de algo que hiciste hoy. Haz que alguien te ayude a escribir una oración sobre lo que dibujaste.

Wednesday: Go on a shape hunt around your house or neighborhood. How many triangles, squares, circles, and rectangles can you find? Can you find any other shapes? Friday: Watch the Sesame Street video clip about sorting. Science **Begin collecting items from your home for a “junk collection” that can be used for this study. Items to collect include cleaned food containers and boxes, paper towel rolls, string, buttons, magazines, papers, etc. Keep these items in a box or bag to use for the next 4 weeks. / Comience a recolectar artículos de su hogar para una "colección de basura" que puede usarse para este estudio. Tuesday: Go for a walk around your neighborhood and point out trash that you see along the way. Ask, “What is it? How do you think it got there?
