Students?

The Student Must

  1. Get the very best from this opportunity by:
  • 100% attendance
  • Arrive on time every day
  • Wear appropriate dress (agreed with employers beforehand)
  • Complete a daily log
  • Contact the school if you are worried about anything
  • Represent the school to the best of ability

Note: If you are too ill to work then you should contact the employer before 9am

Employers?

The Employer Must

  1. Provide a member of staff to be responsible for the work placement

This person will:

  • Oversee the work of the student
  • Be responsible for health and safety
  • Be the point of contact between placement and school
  • Be the point of contact between placement and parents/carers
  • Provide feedback at the end of the placement
  1. This persons details must be provided to the school

  1. Parents/Carers sign the permission form linked in the letter emailed out (due by 02.02.2024)
  1. Make contact with possible placements (letter, phone, email, in person)
  1. Send the WEX Protocol for Students and Employers

Dyson Foundation

“Brilliantly Engineered” Dyson Foundation Careers and STEM expose

  • STEM development and Careers programme, Year 10 students are being afforded the opportunity to attend the expose on Mon 26th February.
  • Students will walk to the Queen’s Square Building in Bath and will have the opportunity to take part in a “rapid prototyping” STEM event from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm.
  • Before and after the main event there will be some time for students to visit the stalls and activities at the STEM expose.
  • The students will depart school at the end of period 1 and return by 3pm ready to return home by their normal means.
