What you NEED to know!
The grad program
52 credits come from Required courses (not necessarily academic)
28 credits come from Elective courses (can be academic or not)
16 credits must be at the Grade 12 level (4 courses)
1 course must be a Fine Art or Applied Skill (this can be taken in Gr.10, 11 or 12)
1 course must be an Indigenous content course (at Claremont, this is English 11)

2 | A Social Studies | You must take at least ONE Social Studies course at the Grade 11 OR 12 level. There are several courses you are able to take to fulfill this credit. You DO NOT have to take Socials 11 before taking a course with a 12 after it since you have everything you need after completing Social Studies 10. At Claremont you have the following choices:

Dual Credit Courses
Dual credit courses are university level courses run by both a high school teacher and college professor. Successful students receive both high school and college credits.
Advanced Placement (AP) Courses
AP courses are run by a high school teacher and are equivalent to first year university courses. Students write an AP exam at the conclusion of each course. Those who are successful (3.5 - 6), qualify to skip the corresponding first year university course.
Mandatory assessments
You will need to complete 3 mandatory assessments in order to graduate:
You will receive a mark out of 4 for each assessment and will have 3 chances to take the test.
