Study Hall

Welcome to Study Hall. This class is a place for completing class and homework assignments/projects and studying for tests/quizzes. This is a useful time during the school day to help you be successful in your current classes, so please use it wisely. Come to study hall prepared to work for the full class period!

*Please note that the class expectations will be flexible based on school/district guidelines.

Class Purpose

The point of this class is to have time to complete assignments and study for other classes. This is NOT free time to be used however one wishes but must be used to work on academic content, study, or quietly read. Students must work independently on their schoolwork. If a student does not come with acceptable material to work on, the teacher will provide them with work to do.

Materials:

  • pen/sharpened pencil/paper
  • binder/notebook, or other method of organizing school work/homework/study materials
  • Chromebook charged
  • Headphones or earbuds

Grading Procedures

Study Hall is considered a class and therefore a grade is given. The grades for Study Hall will be calculated as follows:

  • Each student will be given a weekly grade. This grade is determined by the student’s attendance, preparedness for study hall, and participation in completing work.
  • Students will complete an electronic rubric rating their study hall participation on a bi-weekly basis (every other week). The study hall teacher will review the ratings and converse with students if she has any concerns.
  • The study hall teacher will be reviewing your grades periodically. If you have a D or lower in any class, you must meet with the study hall teacher to work on bringing up your grade.
