Try a Tasting in

YOUR Classroom!

Tips for Success

  • Check for allergies ahead of time!
  • Chop fruit or veggies ahead of time so each student can try a bite (ex. one persimmon can be made into 6 tasting slices!)
  • Make sure to have a bin or paper towel around for any mess

Tastings can be an easy, cost-effective, and engaging way to introduce students to new flavors and get them excited about healthy eating! Tastings can be just a bite of a highlighted fruit or veggie or it can be a simple recipe they could make at home.

Remember, tastings are not necessarily about getting students to like the foods they are tasting, but opportunities to learn mindful eating skills and trying new things.
