Location~

  • its an island
  • it’s in between sunda and java and sumatra
  • destroyed much of the island
  • island is made up of the volcano
  • people live on this island
  • below sea level
  • 3 miles wide and 5.5 miles long

Location 2~

  • before first explosion there were three volcanic peaks
  • there was little eruptions underwater before
  • still active today
  • Started with three volcanic peaks shown in the photo

Damage~

  • 165 villages were destroyed
  • The longest one of them lasted for is 26 hours and 56 mins.
  • stormy heavy rains and rough seas when the volcano starts
  • august 1883 was the first time it erupted
  • 36000 have died because of this volcano
  • since 1927 there is still small eruptions

Severity~

  • clouds can be up to 6 miles high
  • thunder after that and rough storms last really long after small eruptions occur
  • killed 36000 people
  • Ash flies throughout the air for days at a time after an eruption(even the smallest one)
  • clouds stayed for up to two months

Evidence~

  • earthquakes triggered the volcano to erupt between 1877 to 1883
  • 416 and a volcano broke the island up into smaller pieces
  • each time the volcano erupted it made this island bigger
  • began under water from trenches
  • began on the ocean floor
