Sorting and Filtering

Sorting: You can sort a range of cells according to rules set for one or more columns

Filtering: The filter feature in Google Sheets makes it easier to analyze and view your data by hiding the data that you temporarily want to take out of view.

Conditional Filtering: Use conditional formatting rules to get a visual summary of complex or changing data. You can format cells to change the text or background colors if they meet certain conditions, for example if the cells contain certain words or number.

Using Pivot Table

A pivot table report is a dynamic table that lets you interpret data in different ways without ever having to enter a formula. Pivot table reports are particularly useful when you want to narrow down a large data set or analyze relationships between data points.

More about Pivot Tables

  • Always organize your data into columns. Column headers become the fields that you add into your pivot table report.

  • You can create multiple pivot table reports from the same set of data. Simply go back to the data source and create a new pivot table report. It will create a new pivot table report on a separate sheet.

  • You can use pivot tables to generate graphs and charts
