  • April 2012 moved to Missouri S&T from Missouri DOT
    • Provide on-site delivery of transit driver training
    • Participate in National RTAP networking activities to make the RTAP Office more efficient and effective
    • Produce quarterly Missouri RTAP eNewsletter
    • Manage reimbursement to rural transit providers through the Scholarship Reimbursement Program
    • Provide technical assistance and technology transfer
    • Develop data & knowledge management repository for Missouri rural transit agencies

Missouri RTAP Data Repository

  • Data repository is being coordinated by the �Missouri RTAP staff and developed by ESX, Inc.
    • Part of Missouri Local Training and Resource Center’s (MLTRC) �online learning management system (LMS)
  • Purpose & Key Features:
    • Collect essential financial and service information �on each of the transit providers in Missouri
    • Web-based platform allow providers direct access to input data
      • help minimize the number of input errors and �extensive personnel hours to clear the errors
    • Providers can obtain analytical reports and operational statistics
      • Can be easily packaged and submitted FTA requirements

  • Primary information being gathered:
    • • Vehicle Data
      • Rosters, years in service, conditions mileage, �basic state of good repair (SGR), analysis data, etc.
    • Passenger Data
      • Yearly volumes, origin / destinations, payment types, trip purposes, pick up times / drop off times) and passengers per mile, hour, etc.
    • Funding and Finance Data
      • Source of funds, expenditures, budgets (capital/operating), etc.
    • Agency Information
      • Number of employees and breakdown of workforce, hourly �rates for operators, operator shortages per agency, etc.

    • Florida’s DOT and RTAP on Apr. 28, 2023
    • Kansas DOT and Nebraska DOT on May 11, 2023
    • North Carolina DOT on May 15, 2023
    • North Carolina State University on June 1, 2023

  • Kansas data repository initial discussion:
    • People can find transit provider in their area
    • Housed on KU website
    • Kansas did a feasibility study with KDOT
    • Moving to a trip planner
    • KDOT uses a Blackcat system
  • Nebraska trip planner initial discussion:
    • Trips.nebraskatransit.com
    • Started 5 years ago – �pilot planning started Q1 2022, pilot began 2023
    • CTFS Flex is state supported
    • Many smaller agencies do not have funding or expertise

Florida DOT

  • Florida trip planner initial discussion:
    • Program called Trancip – a version of Blackcat
    • Used for grant management, vehicle inventory, oversight
    • Agencies can access the system
    • Can generate reports but not very user friendly
    • North Carolina has a system they created and may be willing to share

NC State University

  • North Carolina data repository discussion:
    • Operations statistics (OP-STATS)
      • https://connect.ncdot.gov/business/transit/pages/OPSTATS.aspx
    • NC State developed the database for NCDOT
    • Covers much of what is in the NTTD report – �the workbook flows into the OP-STATS database
    • Started in 2004 & complete in 2006, NC State U houses the data
    • Trip Maker a part of the system
    • This system seems to be a great starting point!
      • Missouri RTAP was given the spreadsheet and database to work from
