Relationships– Connect & Belong
Our first priority is to build a positive relationship with each 2nd grader. We also proactively foster connections among students as we work to establish our Castle Rock community.
Here are a few ways we will connect with students and begin to grow our relationships:
People won’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”
-Teddy Roosevelt
Emotional Regulation
Emotional regulation is the ability to understand and manage your feelings and behavior in appropriate ways in order to connect with others and optimize learning.
R.A.M.S.RESPECT ALLATTENDMOTIVATED TO LEARN SAFETY
Making mistakes is one of the best ways your brain learns and grows!
-Our R.A.M.S. expectations are taught, reviewed and practiced regularly.
-Staff work with individual students to “Stop, Think and Reset” when needed.
-If a concerning behavior persists, a staff member will contact parents and/or the student will bring home a referral sheet to be signed and returned.
Every day is a fresh start!
Grading
Poudre School District uses a numerical grading scale for Effort & Personal Growth and Achievement on report cards. Report cards will once again be available through ParentVue at the end of each semester. We will share more detailed information at that time.
