ABOUT PRODUCT

Wake Volt technologies is developing solution for Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV).

The Autonomous Propulsion and Navigation System for ASV aims to bring the advanced autonomous driving technologies into marine world.

The system would cater for different types for small to medium size vessels ranging from recreational boating to surveillance vessels, survey operations vessels and commercial cargo operation vessels ensuring enable real-time decision-making, collision avoidance, route planning and real-time decision making thereby transforming the way we traverse the waters.

The system is optimized specifically for autonomous and remote control of unmanned vehicles and the conversion of manned vessels for unmanned use.

Our first phase focuses on autonomous systems for small boats, equipped with advanced navigation, remote operation, and obstacle avoidance.

We are providing access for control center operation and monitoring of the vessels. The goal is to achieve, Level 4 ASV autonomous operation which can be used for different type of vessels and various operations.

COSTS

  • Accessibility and affordability: High costs associated with autonomous technology can be prohibitive, especially for smaller operators. Making these technologies more affordable and accessible is crucial for widespread adoption
  • Interoperability and integration with existing infrastructure: Autonomous watercrafts need to be integrated with existing maritime infrastructure and navigation systems. Developing solution that facilitates this integration can help in the smooth adoption of autonomous technologies.
  • Reliability and Redundancy: Ensuring the reliability of autonomous systems in diverse and challenging maritime environments is a significant challenge. Developing robust systems with built-in redundancy to handle failures is essential.

  • Commercial cargo shipping and ferry operators: They benefits from autonomous technology to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance safety in cargo transportation
  • Recreational boaters: Benefit from easier navigation, enhanced safety allowing them to enjoy their time on water with less stress
  • Research Organization: Conducting marine research will become easy with autonomous vessels for precise navigation and data collection enabling more accurate and efficient studies
  • Military and Defense: Naval forces can use autonomous vessels for surveillance, reconnaissance, mine detection, and other strategic operations, reducing the risk to human personnel
  • Port Authorities Harbor Management: Can improve the efficiency and safety of docking operations and overall port management

  • The autonomous watercraft market was valued at $3 billion in 2023 and expected to grow at CAGR of around 10-15% over the next decade.
  • Indian autonomous watercraft market is in nascent stages but show significant potential for growth. Several factors indicate promising future like Government Initiatives, maritime industry growth, research and development, commercial and defense applications

SOLUTION

CLOSE THE GAP

Designing our autonomous system to be compatible with existing maritime infrastructure and communication networks. We leverage open source and scalable technologies to reduce costs and make autonomous systems accessible to a broader market. Incorporating fail-safe mechanisms to maintain operation even in the event of system failures will help to minimize the safety and regulatory controls. The system is designed for sustainability and enhance energy efficiency, contributing to greener maritime operations. We are aimed to achieve LEVEL 4(High automation) with ability to autonomously navigate in most environments, including open waters and predefined routes.

TARGET CUSTOMERS

On initial phase we are targeting customers for recreational boats, R&D vessels and surveillance vessels. The autonomous system can be incorporated to other vessel type with minimal changes.

COST SAVINGS

The solution can reduce the cost of operation by reducing the operational cost above 50% which is around $5 million for medium size cargo vessel

RETROFITTABLE SYTEM

The system is retrofittable to existing propulsion system there by reducing initial setup cost and easier adoption.
