Thought Experiment

What would the world look like if:

  1. Women never gain the right to vote.
  2. African Americans never gain the right to vote?

In other words: the Fifteenth and Nineteenth Amendments were never passed and ratified.

  • What would the world be like?
  • What would this mean for women and African Americans?
  • What would this mean for the women closest to you? You mother, sister, aunt, grandmother?
  • What would this mean for the African American community?

Do any of these situations seem familiar to what is the reality of Washington today?
