What is Title One?

  • Title I provides all children “significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.”
  • Funded by the federal government
  • Administered and monitored by the state of Ohio
  • Reynoldsburg must use their Title I funds to improve student outcomes through increasing achievement and family engagement; and providing professional development for staff

Title One : Reynoldsburg City Schools

  • All elementary schools in Reynoldsburg have a Title I schoolwide programs designed to serve ALL students
  • Based on a district needs assessment, our Title I program goals are to: 
    • Increase reading and math proficiency rates by at least 6% by the end of the 24/25 schools year
    • Provided tailored instructional strategies and resources to meet the needs of English learners and students with disabilities

Curriculum At RCS

Curriculum at RCS aligns with Ohio’s Learning Standards (education.ohio.gov). Students are expected to master grade level standards.

District Policy Title One

  • The Board directs the administration to develop the necessary regulations to ensure that this policy is followed and that parental involvement is encouraged. The regulations are:
  • Encourage strong home-school partnerships;
  • Provide for consistent and effective communication between the parents and school officials;
  • Offer parents ways to assist and encourage their children to do their best; and
  • Offer ways parents can support classroom learning activities.

Homelessness

Certain rights and protections contained in the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act are assured to families who find themselves in a homeless situation, which is defined by the following living situations:

  • In a shelter
  • In a motel or campground due to the lack of an alternative adequate accommodation
  • In a car, park, abandoned building, or bus or train station
  • Doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship
