A - Achievable
R - Realistic
T - Time Bound
The in’s and outs of “SmART” goals
S- Specific and Significant
Think of something that you actually want to achieve (significant) and write it in a specific way so that you will know if you achieved it or not.
“To get at least 85% on my stamp sheets for 3 stamps sheets in a row.”

M- Measurable
In order to know whether or not you accomplished your goal, you need to be able to measure it. It doesn’t have to be in numbers, but it helps.
“To get at least 85% on my stamp sheets for 3 stamps sheets in a row.”

A- Achievable
Know your limits, but also push yourself. Don’t make a goal that seems way too hard or way too easy because you will not be motivated to achieve it.
“To get at least 85% on my stamp sheets for 3 stamps sheets in a row.”

R- Realistic
Think about what is realistic in the next few months. Do you have a long term goal to go to UC Berkeley to study Neuroscience? Break it up into smaller chunks to make it more realistic.
“To get at least 85% on my stamp sheets for 3 stamps sheets in a row.”

T- Time Bound
Give yourself a date to shoot for. If you just leave it out in the open, you won’t know when to evaluate and see if you’re ready for the next step or need to rethink your goal.
“To get at least 85% on my stamp sheets for 3 stamps sheets in a row.”
