Pickup/Dropoff

Drop Off has been changed to 7:15 a.m.

Must use 6th grade end for 7:15 drop off as the front drive will not begin until 7:30 a.m.

Planners and Fee

*$10.00 5th grade fee covers a planner and supplies for Colonial Day Activities

*Students are required to record daily assignments/tests in planner each day before leaving each class

*Parents please review planner nightly.

*Imperative to build student responsibility for materials as well as ensure success for upcoming assessments

Science & History

*Science standards are taught through the AMSTI kits with many engaging & hands-on activities & experiments.

*History standards are taught through Studies Weekly, publications that have been proven to raise test scores, with fun and challenging activities that will be used for in-class assignments.

Reading & Lang/Writing

*Reading will be taught with the Reading Wonders reading program this year on a five day schedule with testing on the fifth day. Language is taught within the program, and the writing process as well as the types of writing will be taught.

*DAily multiplication math fact practice is highly Encouraged.

  • Solve and Share- This is a problem-based learning approach where students can try various strategies and share solutions with peers.
  • Visual Learning- Students will be shown a variety of strategies to build conceptual understanding.
  • Assessment and Differentiation- Students will work in small groups on a variety of engaging activities at their level.

* Your children will be learning about 7 habits throughout our Leader in Me program. This program promotes positive characteristics and ethics that will last for the remainder of their lives.
