What is Hoo-Ha!?
Hoo-Ha! is a festival for families at Bristol Beacon.
When is it happening?
Hoo-Ha! Will take place on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 August 2024, from 10am until 3pm.
Do I need a ticket?
No, you do not need to book tickets for Hoo-Ha! the main event is free. You can just turn up on the day.
If you want to attend the Marcel Lucont show, you can buy tickets from our website or from our box office.
Where is it taking place?
Hoo-Ha! will take place on all floors across Bristol Beacon. Bristol Beacon looks like this:
Where to come in?
You can come through the glass door on Colston Street.
If you come in this door, you will be in our ‘foyer’.
The Bristol Loaf café is on your left.
In the foyer there will be a stage area. This is what it looks like with nobody there.
If you go up the stairs on your right, you will be in our 'Welcome' area. The friendly staff will be able to answer any questions you might have.
What can I do at Hoo-Ha!?
On the main stage downstairs by the cafe you might see singing, dancing and musicians performing.
Some of the musicians performing on Tuesday include Lunatraktors.
This is Lunatraktors. Their names are Clair and Carli.
On Wednesday you might see a group called RSVP Bhangra. They sing and dance in a Bhangra style.
On Wednesday you might see a musician called ICHI.
He plays lots of funny instruments that he made himself.
They make interesting sounds. This is ICHI.
Outside the Box Office, there will be a huge dome that looks like this.
You can go into this dome and learn all about the stars.

More music and activities will happen in Lantern Hall. Lantern Hall looks like this:
The flat floor will not have chairs there, but there will be bean bags and comfy seating.
In Lantern Hall on Tuesday, there will be a music show from Dizraeli. They look like this:
On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be a cinema show with instruments called The Enchanted Cinema. It will look like this:
On the first floor (which we call the ‘stalls bar’) you might take part in some arts and crafts, or music activities.
There will be group called Noisy Toys, There will be some handmade instruments and machines that make interesting sounds, and staff to help show you how to use them. This may be a bit noisy, as the name suggests!
Victoria will help you create your own musical creature. This is Victoria.
On the third floor (which we call the terrace bar) you might take part in some music technology activities.
Enrico from Conductive Music, will be around to help you create you own beats and tracks on computers and ipads. This is Enrico.
Chill out zone / Quiet area
Our chill out zone will be located in Simons' Bar. There will be lots of comfortable seating for you to take a bit of time to reset.
In the Weston Stage in the Cellars, you'll find Kiss My Putt Crazy Golf. Here you'll be able to hit balls on a special gold course, using golf clubs or other objects.

About Hoo-Ha! Festival
It will be colourful and sometimes it might be a little bit loud. There will be lots of people there.
When something is new, this might make us feel a little nervous or anxious… and that is ok.�

How can I get there?
Bristol Beacon is located at Trenchard Street, BS1 5AR.
Where can I park?
Disabled parking can be found in the Trenchard Street car park.
Where can I be dropped off?
A lay-by for curb-side drop-off is immediately outside Bristol Beacon on Pipe Lane.
Where is there level access?
There is level access from Colston Street with automatic doors.
There is currently no level access through our Trenchard Street entrance due to roadworks taking place outside the building.
We have lifts to all floors.
Where are the toilets?
There are accessible toilets and baby changing facilities on Lower Ground, Ground and Level 3 of Bridgehouse.
We also have a Changing Places toilet.
Are assistance dogs allowed?
Registered assistance dogs and emotional support animals are allowed.
Is there a buggy park?
Yes, you can leave your buggy on the lower ground floor or on level 3, next to the signs for the buggy parks.
