⅞ Dance Expectations

What is expected from students...

  • School rules and CARES expectations apply
  • Students only enter through the front doors located between the office and the gym
    • Any early arriving students will wait in the hallway by the gym
  • Students are to stay within expected physical boundaries of the dance
    • Cafeteria, hallways by and leading to gym
  • Indoor behavior is expected
  • Dance with others, participate in group dances and activities, stand in groups and talk, sit in chairs along the wall, “hang” in hallway - all great choices
  • Eat! Concessions/food will be sold starting at 7:15
    • Food is allowed in Cafeteria and hallways
  • Students should be cleaning up after themselves
  • Students will be dismissed through front doors - should be picked up promptly

The “Don’ts” of a ⅞ Grade Dance at BRMS

Don’t:

  • Phones
  • Come to the dance if you were absent from school that day
  • Enter the dance from any point other than the front doors
  • Leave in the middle of the dance without checking with staff members and having them speak with a parent
  • No guests from other schools or grades are allowed
  • Push and shove at any time during the dance
  • Dance in an aggressive or provocative way (ie, “moshing”, “grinding”)
  • Be disrespectful in language and tone to DJ, staff, each other
  • Throw food or liquids
  • Chase each other, roll around on the floor
  • Leave the cafeteria through any door other than those leading to gym/cafeteria
  • Go into any stairwells
  • Stand on chairs, tables, ride on each other’s shoulders
  • Open any doors without permission (if it gets hot in the cafeteria, the staff will open a few of the sliding glass doors)
