I recognize that we are all on traditional territories and Lands. York region sits on The Williams Treaty and Treat 13. York Region Acknowledges the Chippewas of Georgina Island. My School Board is on the traditional Lands of the Mississauga of the Credit. The Land is an important piece of my identity. The land is responsible for my healing and mental health. I am thankful for the Mississauga of the Credit for allowing me as a settler to be a part of this land, that they for centuries before me have been caretakers of. I am also privileged to learn from my elders and knowledge keepers how to take care of the land for future generations.
