Coding Conduct

#1: Be respectful of others

Robot in your area to not disturb other groups.

#2: Show your code

Show your teacher each time you accomplish a new challenge

#3: Everyone gets a turn

Ensure everyone in your group gets a chance to code

#4: Don’t be afraid to fail

Coding isn’t easy and you will rarely get it right on the first try! Work through the problems and don’t give up!

Add to LED Bumper

This example project uses a Repeat Loop to change the color of the LED Bumper from green, to red, to off.

Code Base

Using the LED Bumper

Students will use the 'Wait until Push' example project to cause the Code Base to drive forward when the LED Bumper is pressed. They will add parts to the front of the robot to be able to bump in to other walls or robots.

Use the Eye Sensor to steer your robot.

Create a project that uses color detection to determine the path your Code Base takes.

Create a project that will program the Code Base to turn right if it detects blue, turn left if it detects green, and stop if it detects red. Have the Code Base run from the beginning to the end of the path.

Build: Eye Down Instructions

Pro Tips

  • Lighting: Sometimes lighting can affect a light detecting sensor. Make sure you are in a well-lit room when running your project.

Search and Collect

The goal is for the robot to move forward and use the Eye Sensor to detect the Disk (sample) and collect it using the Electromagnet. Once the sample is collected, the robot will do a wiggle dance (turn back and forth 2-3 times) to let Mission Control know it collected the sample.

Make decisions using the Eye Sensor

Navigate a maze by color!

The robot navigates the maze using the Eye Sensor. The robot should:

    • Turn right at the green disk
    • Turn left at the blue disk
    • Stop at the red disk

‘LEVEL UP’

  • Maze Remodel – Place all three disks in new locations and adjust your project to navigate the new maze.
  • Glow Time – Have the GO Robot’s bumper glow a matching color as each disk is detected (use off for the Blue Disk).
