Concept

PURPOSE

Create art interventions that connect the unhoused community to available shelters & resources.

HOW WE DO IT

  • Esperanza Stations: provide “artistic wayfinding” with resources.
  • Second Chance Sunday: “Care-A-Van” to build positive relationships with resource providers and community partners.
  • Fuel Hope: enhance brand identity & deliver hope in an art car.
  • Message on a Bottle: share reusable water bottles designed by artists with resources.
  • Mi Gente: form focus groups with people in low barrier shelters to reach their “gente” that remain unhoused through art, storytelling & photography.

Local artist designs wrap for stations

    • wrap has link, phone #, QR code to resources

Local groups sponsor a station

    • fill with water, snacks, books, socks, supplies, letters
    • unhoused can also leave letters or art for groups
    • creates bridge to help destigmatize unhoused

Second Chance Sunday�a creative “Care-A-Van” of non-profit groups & community partners that visit top ten unhoused encampments the second Sunday of each month to offer onsite care & resources.
