DO NOT PRESENT THIS SLIDE

Before your session:

  • Know your audience: Review the participant roster to familiarize yourself with the attendees (organization, role, etc.) and prepare your training to their needs.
  • Review the content: Go through the deck using the facilitator guide until you are comfortable presenting the information. You’ll also want to spend time reviewing the content and practicing with your co-facilitator; it's important to divvy up the slides and practice the role-play.
  • Select your scenarios: Consider your audience when you select your scenarios. What might be most relevant for them? For example, you might want to choose tech-relevant scenarios for a tech audience. Also, you may consider starting with low-risk scenarios, allowing participants to build up to tackling more difficult ones. Select which scenarios you want to cover, and make sure they’re represented in your deck.
  • Practice the role-play exercise: Practice role-playing with your co-facilitator, including responding to a variety of participant responses.
  • Print the materials: Print one set of materials per table. Cut the role cards. We recommend a classroom size of 30 with 5-6 table groups.
  • Set up your classroom: Setup tables for appropriate # of groups and prepare your materials.
