  • A range of factors which may affect food choice, such as peer pressure, sustainability and religious and cultural practices.

  • How to use food packaging and their knowledge of nutrition to make informed food choices.

Having explored a range of issues which may affect food choice, I can discuss how this could impact on the individual’s health. HWB 3-34a

Through practical activities using different foods and drinks, I can identify key nutrients, their sources and functions, and demonstrate the links between energy, nutrients and health. HWB 3-31a

Outcomes

Budget: A set limited amount of money to spend.

Peer Pressure: the strong influence of a group, on members of that group to behave as everyone else does.

Kosher: Permissible foods in Judaism are called Kosher, these are found in the Torah.

Halal: Permissible foods in Islam, which are outlined in the Koran.
