Marquette Auditions
2026-2027
We are so excited that you are here!
Hello!
I am Mrs. Dack, the director of the Marquettes! I’ve been at Marcus for 21 years and a director for 26 years now! I was a Friendswood Wranglerette, a Kilgore College Rangerette and graduated from UNT with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. I also have a Masters Degree in Educational Administration.
I cannot thank you enough for showing an interest in our team! The Marquettes are a very special group of performers that love their team, their school, and to DANCE! We hope that you enjoy the audition process and we cannot wait to get to know you!

Hello!
I am Mrs. Hladky, the Assistant Director of the Marquettes! This is my 11th year at Marcus. I graduated from Marcus High School where I was a 2-year Lieutenant for the Marquettes, under the direction of Alice Dack and Lauren Murry. After high school I went on to be a Kilgore College Rangerette, then completed my bachelors degree at Texas A&M University.
I am thrilled you want Marquettes to be a part of your high school journey. I remember EXACTLY what if feels like to be in your shoes, nervous and excited all at the same time. I can assure you that Marquettes changed my life for the better, and has made me who I am today. This program is unique is so many ways, and I cannot wait for you to get a glimpse of our passion for dance, performing, and loving one another through it all. Good luck, Marquette hopefuls.
Our Marquette Philosophy
Dance is important, but not the most important thing…. We believe that becoming a well-rounded, mature, respectful young lady THROUGH the vehicle of dance is what matters most. |
|
Trophies and applause are expected, but not the end goal. We believe our girls will walk away from Marquettes with a stronger understanding of how to be a positive contributor to their families, school, and community. |
|
We never ask for perfection - only a commitment to constant growth and improvement. |

Important Things to Consider Before Auditioning
:
Family Commitment
Varsity Program Commitment
FAMILY Commitment
VARSITY Commitment
DRILL TEAM TRAINING
ONE
Class everyday during 1st period all year. You will receive a Fine Arts & PE Credit. You will perform in the Christmas Show & Spring Show.
TWO
Audition only. It is not a “sign up” course. Judges will place you in my class. We move at a slower, more intentional pace, which allows Mrs. Hladky to give individual feedback daily to prepare for auditions.
THREE
We have a blast! We work on technique and stamina daily to reach the level of Varsity. Being in DTT does not guarantee you a spot on Varsity the following year, but is a phenomenal way to better prepare.
