Meeting NDA OPRG

  • Held meeting with members of NDA Older People’s Reference group – March 2009
  • Presented work to date – possible research tools for use by those involved in research.

Research Tools

  • Possible research tools included
    • Diary to record times when using toilets away from home and to record ‘state’ of public toilets
    • Mapping to identify where in areas toilets were located.

Tools rejected by potential users as being impractical

Research participants

  • Original proposal aimed at recruiting older users to project (aged 50+)
  • OPRG suggested extending age range to include transgenerational need for public toilet facilities.
  • Developed ‘lifecourse’ methodology based around epidemiological studies.
