Once upon a time in the city of Kaushambhi, there lived Kashyap a Rajpurohit and his son Kapil.

Kashyap was a wise man and so the king of Kaushambhi invited him to sit on a silver “palkhi” with a grand ceremonial procession.

Being very attached to Kapil, his mother did not educate him. Kapil spent the whole day playing and hence remained illiterate.

Then, Kaushambhi’s king appointed Pandit Somil as the Rajpurohit.

Now, every day the newly appointed Rajpurohit went in a procession and Kapil and his mother witnessed this scene.

Kapil's mother felt bad and started crying. Kapil asked his mother, “Why are you crying?” Kapil's mother told him that he

was not educated and he was not appointed as the Rajpurohit. And thus they were unhappy.
