Walking the Walk

“Cut through the noise and help your channel stand out”

4 of 6

Breakout Rooms: Brainstorm types of content that you can utilize in your TikToks!

Discussion Notes

Challenges of showing our game

  • VR Content
  • Music trends on TikTok (can we use game OST?)
  • Genres and the challenges they may have in showing the game.

Posting: What type of content to fill space between announcements? Find topics that relate to your game, show behind the scenes progress.

Tiktok appreciates authenticity: high polish is not quite necessary

Best way to get noticed on TikTok is being on TikTok. Helps to be aware of what they are, even if they’re not always relevant.

Find other TikTok creators, and interact!

Feature spots can be hyper engaging -- but if you don’t have that, find way

How often is the right amount to post? 1-3x a week is solid! Know that while there is an advantage to posting consistency and frequently, with the way the algorithm works, every video has the chance to go viral.

The audience is younger: keep that in mind when creating videos.

Talking the Tok

“Managing your time and maximising your content”

6 of 6

Breakout Rooms: How much time should you be spending on TikTok versus other social media platforms? How can you maximize your time and content?

Discussion Notes

  • Already a challenge to dedicate time to creating
  • Don’t have a dedicated community person (or community person may already be overloaded)
  • It may be beneficial to pick 1-2 platforms and focus on those, gradually adding others as the pipelines smooth out.

What has worked for you?

  • Using a scheduler and not being stuck in the platform (i.e. Later)
  • Use drafts! Batch create content when you have the energy.
  • As much as possible, reuse your content (IG Reels, Youtube Shorts, etc) especially if you have one person vs a full social team.
  • Don’t worry about having lots of edits or getting super fancy (keeping it simple and to one topic will help this too!)
  • Don’t stress about posting every day.
