Activity Specific Skills
Passing - There are 5 different types of passes – the chest pass, bounce pass, lob, overhead pass and shoulder pass.
Catching - Important skill to be able to start attacks and intercept the ball. The art of catching and stepping to gain distance is an important skill.
Running - Running at speed is important in attacking and defending. Marking your opposite player is important.
Defending- Specific rules around contact and being a controlled distance away.
Shooting – Certain players can shoot and have to be in a certain area. Working on technique- different from basketball with no backboard.
Decision Making - Challenge pupils to make quick decisions in situations within drills and game.
Specific roles and responsibilities within the team- pupils will experience playing the variety of positions in a netball game. This will develop to playing specific positions using their strengths and weaknesses
