Gayatri

A 1:1 mentoring program

​

The program’s objective is to guide and nurture future tech leaders with focus on:

• Career Advancement
• Career Transition

​

Open to:

• Mentees from India with 3+ years experience
• Mentors from any chapter with 10+ years

​

6 or 12 month program

​

Pairs expected to meet 1 hour per week

​

Getting From Here To There

A peer mentoring program

​

Focus is on developing skills to create and execute a career advancement or new job search strategy

​

Open to participants from all chapters

​

Participants will work together guided by 2 experienced facilitators

​

Three month virtual program:

• Large group meetings – 6 bi-weekly sessions for 75 minutes
• Accountability pair “stand-ups” - between group meeting sessions

Leadership Circles

Based on the work of Dr. Ellen Snee – LEAD: How Women In Leadership Claim Their Authority

​

This is a 3 – 4 month virtual program:

• Large monthly assemblies groups
• Smaller discussion groups meeting 3 to 5 times

By invitation only program

​

Designed to recognize and honor the leadership contribution of WiBD regional/chapter directors and co-directors.

Mentor In Tech

A 1:1 mentoring program

​

Focus is on:

• Technical Skill Development
• Leadership Development
• Product and Program Management
• Entrepreneurship and Startups
• Career Advancement

Open to participants from any chapter

• Mentees who have strong motivation
• Mentors with 3+ years

​

12 week virtual program – pairs expected to meet for at least 3 1-hour sessions.

Shakti

A 1:1 mentoring program

​

Supports women looking to restart a data related career after a career break

​

Open to:

• Mentees from India with 3+ years
• Mentors from any chapter with 12+ years

​

This is a 4-6 month virtual program:

• Mentee – 16 to 24 hours / week
• Mentor – 1 hour weekly for 3 months – then 1 hour biweekly

​

Toronto Mentoring Program

A 1:1 mentoring program

​

This program focuses on:

• Skill development, personal and professional growth through networking and knowledge sharing
• Designed to meet career advancement and development goals

​

Open to WiBD Canadian members:

• Mentees with less than 5 years
• Mentors with 5+ years

​

12 week virtual program – pairs expected to meet minimally every 2 weeks for 1-hour session

Data Science Olympians

A project based mentoring program

​

This program focuses on:

• Advancing technology skill and leadership through data science contest participation
• Participants will work in teams led by peer leaders and peer coordinators

​

Open to all WiBD Members:

• Data science enthusiasts to industry domain experts

​

4 month virtual program – participants are expected to invest 4 to 6 hours weekly
