My Theatre Journey
Raine Ramsey
Why did I join theatre?
It all started in the year 2019, when I first moved to Georgia. Everything was new, and I was terrified of all the changes going on around me. I remember how nervous I was to go to my school, and how much I wanted to step out if my shell more. At this point in my life, I was struggling really hard with anxiety, so I decided to join theater, in hopes that I would be able to open up more!

I have been in theatre all 3 years I have attended West Hall!
2019
2019 was the first year of my theater experience. I think this was my most formative year, because it's the year I experienced and learned the most from! It was a completely new era of my life, and it's where some of my best friendships began to form. It's also where I- for the first time- was stage manager of a show (Some Tales is True)!

2020
2020 was the year where a lot of self-discovery happened! I became less reclusive and I really began to come into my own. I also attended Thescon that year, and met so many lovely people! I learned a lot from the many activities I was involved with during then as well, which helped me better my acting abilities. On top of that, I also was the stage manager for our Steel Magnolias production!

2021
Last year was such an amazing year! Its was a pretty chill year for me, and I met lots of new people involved in theater! I did lights for our winter cabaret, which was the first time I ever dabbled in something like that, and it was extremely fun and rewarding! I also directed and acted in a play I helped write titled Quest of Eden, which was a great experience!

How has this impacted me?
Theatre has been such an amazing, incredible, and life-changing experience for me. I truly don't think I would be where I am now in life if I had never joined theatre. It's brought out a confidence in me that I didn't know I could ever have- that I only could have dreamed of. It's been amazing, and I look forward to utilizing all the skills theatre has taught me in the future.
Thanks!
And a special thank you to Coach Rider, the Thespian Society, and Troupe 4589!
