ATTENDANCE

Important Texas State Guidance:

  • Consistent attendance is the most significant factor in student success - start good habits now!

  • Missing consecutive days can create substantial learning gaps and can affect social/emotional well-being. (even if just 2 days)

  • Texas Education Agency (TEA) Compliance states that students must be in attendance for at least 90% of the class days.

  • Avoid Truancy - Enrolled students in public education (including Charter schools) means that you agree to have them attend and if they are outside that legal commitment, there could be risk of Truancy consequences.

CLINIC

  • MEDICATIONS: For the safety of our students, ALL medications are kept in the clinic. A “Request to Administer Medication” form or action plan can be downloaded off the LISD Health Services webpage or picked up in the clinic.
  •
  • ILLNESS: Please remember, if your child stays home or is sent home with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious illness, they MUST be symptom free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school. If your child has been prescribed antibiotics, they must take them for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
  •
  • EXTRA SET OF CLOTHES: It is always a great idea for ALL students regardless of age or grade to keep an extra set of clothing at school in their locker. This will prevent you from having to bring a change of clothes to the school. Potty accidents do happen occasionally, while spills are a common occurrence! Don’t forget to label everything!!!
