Would You Rather?

Students find a partner, greet them by name, and share their answer with a quick reason.�

Each morning on the announcements one of your SOAR Leaders will read a TIP to help you meet our school wide expectations.

Attached to this TIP you will also find the prize we are raffling off that week and when tickets will be drawn.

Begin each day with clear expectations, positive self-talk, and a quick review of goals, before eating a healthy breakfast and prepping for school.

Every William Penn student is capable of meeting our school wide expectations.When students do not meet expectations, the following steps will occur:

  1. The student will be approached by a teacher about their choices and be offered an alternative or correction for the behavior.
  2. If the behavior continues, the staff member will approach the student again. This time the behavior will be written down and the student’s parent or guardian will be notified.
  3. If the behavior continues, the student could be supported in various ways:
    1. After school support groups.
    2. OP reteaching of school wide behaviors (NEST)
    3. Community Service Projects

Each 8th grade staff member will only have 20 tickets per week to give out to students.

There is real value in every ticket, so choose wisely on how you spend them.

How do you “Cash Out”?

Friday/Wednesday Mornings

Each Wednesday doughnuts will be “FOR SALE” outside of the cafe. Each doughnut will be (6 tickets)

Each Friday pretzels will be “FOR SALE” outside of the cafe. Each pretzel will be (5 tickets)

Snack Cart (Mondays OP)

Every Monday during OP, Mr. Costanzo will be around with a snack cart to cash out(drinks, snacks, candy) to be eaten at lunch. You may also cash out for more items from the menu at that time

Mail Order (When Applicable)

A Google “Order” Form will be placed on Schoology for all 8th graders. When you want to “Cash Out”, please drop the needed tickets in the mailbox outside of Mr. C’s room and complete the form. Your prize will be delivered to you if the cash out is complete.

August- November- The Twin Thieves Book Study

Each member of the team will receive their own copy of the book.

The book will be broken down into digestible sections. You will read and annotate the sections independently, then we will meet to discuss.

The SOAR Leadership Team will meet EVERY DAY 5 during OP.

  • In an effort to teach and display Service Leadership, our team will partner with Pennsbury High School and their “Clean Team” to help beautify our community.
  • Students will participate in a day of service on MLK Day.

Student Voice Committee Formation and Leadership

  • Step Up! Take The Lead!
  • Our Student Leadership Team will lead “monthly” student voice meetings.
  • At these meetings, you will ask targeted questions from student groups to gain feedback on our school culture.
