We’re all working towards the same goal: to get people travelling around Ontario again. So this brand guide was created to help unify our efforts while leaving space for your destination to shine. Feel free to use any of the logos and icons we’ve created alongside your existing assets and activities. This way, we’re all on the same page and the program looks great. And since you’re probably busy, we’ve included some ads and stuff that are ready to use.

If you’re unsure how to use anything in this guide, just drop us a note at agatha@culinarytourismalliance.com.

We’d be happy to help.

Since you’re busy, we want participating in the Great Taste of Ontario to be easy. So while you were feeding alpacas, checking on hops or tending to customers, we put together a bunch of things like logos and icons along with brand guidelines for you and your destination marketing partners to use. This way, the program gets executed flawlessly no matter who’s talking about it.

If you’re unsure how to use anything in this guide, just drop us a note at agatha@culinarytourismalliance.com.

We’d be happy to help.

At ontarioculinary.com/Great-Taste Great Taste of Ontario enthusiasts download a passport that features 15 destinations for them to visit. The passport lives as an app on their mobile device so it’s easy to access and use. There are 90 passports in total for a lot of opportunities to go somewhere delicious.

Checking-in is as easy as opening the app. Check-ins are tracked and stored so travellers can easily see how many they have.

Once 3 check-ins are accumulated, Great Taste of Ontario participants can redeem. Then they can snag more check-ins for more rewards.

Each time a food tourist checks in to a destination on their passport, they’re on their way to Great Taste of Ontario rewards! Check-ins can be redeemed for some sweet swag or can be donated to Second Harvest or Foodshare. Which is also pretty sweet. And the icing on the cake? You don’t have to do a thing. (But we just thought you might want to know how all the program elements work together.)

We’re friendly, approachable and excited to share the knowledge we’ve gained, perfecting our passion. We’re positive and appreciative of our communities and customers so we hope that’s how we come across. Because we want you to feel welcome. Sometimes we make jokes. But not at the expense of others. That’s just mean. We can’t wait to share everything we love about our province – including the unique experience we’ve crafted – and we want to pass that enthusiasm on to you.

To help you capture the essence of what makes your itinerary amazing, here are some pointers to help craft destination stories. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, keep the writing short and sweet. Complete the story with images, icons and logos. Focus on what makes your destination unique.

Is it the area’s best smash burger?

Do they provide perfect drink pairings?

Do the servers wear roller skates? Please tell us if they do!

And talk about the vibe. Is it family-friendly or more of a romantic spot?

Will you get face-time with the owner or maker?

Is it a hidden gem that has yet to be discovered?

Let us know that too (and sorry, not sorry that your secret will be out).

Keep the language real (not overly frilly). You don't have to say scrumptious or delectable just because it's aimed at food people.

  • Set accurate expectations – if something isn't fancy, don't paint it as such.
  • Include travel information – do you need a car, bike or hiking shoes to follow this trip?
  • Include unique and appealing accommodation information.
  • Check that your experience follows the Business Inclusion Criteria.
  • Consider different viewpoints and backgrounds. Is it accessible to travellers on a budget?
  • Have fun and let your destination shine!
