About Laboratory
Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory offers a practical learning environment to students where they can explore a practical knowledge of mechanism of soil. To strengthen the theoretical knowledge and provide aid in research projects, the Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory upholds well-maintained equipment. This play a crucial role in the construction projects to design a foundation of important structures such as dams, canals, embankments, bridges, and pavements etc. Students can perform following tests to determine the engineering and index properties of soil:
3. Oven Drying test for water content 4. Pycnometer test for water content and specific gravity
5. Atterberg’s Limits (Liquid limit test, Plastic limit test and Shrinkage limit test)
6. Proctor test (Standard and Modified Proctor test) 7. California Bearing Ratio test
8. Triaxial Test 9. Permeability test 10. Direct Shear test
