Empathy Role-Playing

Objective - Develop empathy and perspective-taking by acting out different scenarios.
In your production teams, draw one scenario card
Read the scenario and discuss how the people involved might feel and how you can respond empathetically.
Each group will role-play the scenario in front of the class and show a compassionate response.

T: Developing social awareness will allow you to interact more effectively within your team and our school community and foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity. Social awareness is foundational for building healthy relationships, promoting positive social behavior, and contributing to the well-being of a diverse society.

T: Today we are going to engage in empathy role-playing. The goal of this activity is to develop empathy and perspective-taking by acting out different scenarios.

T: In your production groups, draw one scenario card. Read the scenario and discuss how the people involved might feel and how you can respond empathetically. Next, each group will role-play the scenario in front of the class and demonstrate a compassionate response. You have approximately 5 minutes to develop your role play and then be ready to act it out for the class!
