Direct Proportion:

When one quantity increases the other quantity increases at the same rate and vice versa.

Partitive Proportion:

A whole is divided into parts that is proportional to the given ration.

Direct Proportion:

When one quantity increases the other quantity increases

Ex. 2:4 = 4:8

A car is able to travel 210km in 3 hours. How far can it travel in 5 hours

Indirect Proportion:

when one quantity increases the other quantity decreases

Ex. 4:8 = 2:4

Five people can finish painting a wall in 5 hours. If only two people are available, how many hours do they have to finish the same job?

Partitive Proportion:

A whole is divided into parts that is proportion to the given ratio.

Ex. 8:20 = 2:5

A glass of jar has 64 chocolates. Mark, Dave and Ralph will share the chocolates in the ratio 1:1:2. How many chocolates will each one of them get?
