Easy Way to Understand How Grades Will Work during At-Home Learning

How much time should you be spending?

  • 9 hours for 4 core content courses per week

[Math, English, Science, Social Studies]

  • 1 hour per week per elective course
  • Weekly 12 Hours- Many of you take 4 core courses plus 3 electives, which means, you should be spending about 12 hours on At-Home-Learning contents per week..

Daily 2.5 hours- You usually have 5 days so each day, you should be spending about 2.5 hours.

Marking Period (MP) Timelines

πŸ™‹πŸ½ 1 grade a week per content

MP4: January 8th - February 14th

MP5: February 19th - March 13th

MP6: April 6th - May 21st

MP5 and MP6 will be combined as one grading period.

P = Proficient

  • Weekly assignments due every SUNDAY by midnight πŸ••
  • Turn in to Google Classroom
  • It’s always better to turn in late than never

Missing Assignments from MP5

  1. COMPLETE missing work - NOW
  2. Missing MP5 assignments can be submitted for a Proficient(P)/Not Proficient grade code(F)
  3. MP5 numerical grades for individual assignments already in the gradebook will be converted to P, F or M codes

  • You can redo ANY Failing MP

HOW?

You work directly with your teacher & simply turn in assignment(s) for a specific marking period (teachers will determine what work you will complete to bring your grade up to a 70)

How to Pass Semester 2

  • You PASS MP4
  • You must PASS at least Β½ of your combined assignments from MP5 & MP6
    • Example:

MP5 = 8 assignments

+ MP6 = 6 assignments

Total = 14 assignment

Of these 14 assignments, you need to PASS at least half (or 7)
