Behaviour Expectations

Class Rules

We have a right to feel safe

We need to: Not bully/make fun of others

Keep hands, feet and objects to ourselves

Be kind and show respect

We have a right to learn

We need to: Pay attention, not disturb others

Ask questions respectfully

Come prepared with all materials

Mrs. Archer has a right to teach

We need to: Actively listen without interrupting

Follow instructions the 1st time

Try our best at new/challenging tasks

Consequences:

Class – the class can earn free time minutes or lose recess minutes depending on how they are working/listening as a class. These are kept track of on the arrows found on the board.

Individual – students’ move their number magnets up and down the behaviour chart on the board as instructed. If they are at the bottom and make another poor choice, they are given a detention.

Think sheets can be given out if students continue to make poor choices and are found in the same area. These are progressive, if a student has previously filled out a yellow, they must take an orange, then a red. These will be filled out with Mrs. French in room 137. Please send the student with a completed orange referral sheet (on board ledge above desk).

Emergency Procedures

Fire Evacuation: Quickly line up and head out the door. Go to the left and walk to the tree near the fence. Students must walk, not run, silently. Make sure the class door is closed and locked and the lights are turned off. There is a clipboard on the shelf by the door – this needs to go with you. Line up at the tree facing the fence silently. Use the clipboard to take attendance. If everyone is accounted for, have the last person in line hold up the clipboard so the number on the back is visible to the administrator. If students are missing, send a runner to the administrator with names.

Classroom Emergency:If you need immediate assistance, dialing 55555 will send an emergency call to the office so they can send help.

Lockdown:Ensure door is locked and closed, classroom lights are off and blinds are closed. Students move quickly and silently to the wall between teacher desk and CRAFTY board. They should sit on the floor and be silent. Remain here until further announcements.
