Blended Learning @ PSPA

Blended learning is the combination of active, engaged learning online with active, engaged learning offline to provide students with more control over the time, place, pace, and path of their learning (Tucker, 2022).

At PSPA Blended learning provides students with direct in-person instruction, one-to-one online support, and a traditional school community.

Students are welcomed to join PSPA athletics & social events.

PSPA is a public charter providing different learning models to families.

Students will have increased one-to-one time with teachers.

Students are provided with a variety of schedule options.

The Blended Academy is partnered with Pearson Online to provide a wide variety of courses, including NCAA-approved options.

Class sizes are under 20 students for each grade.

A Day in the Life

Students grades 6th-10th will have required to attend in person class days on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
4th/5th grade is required to attend in person classes Mondays-Thursdays.

Tuesdays are optional in-person days (6th-8th) - a required remote learning day.
Fridays are required remote learning day for all students. �

Student(s) schedule will vary in AM/PM learning hours.

ABC AM Schedule: 8:25am-11:20am/12:30pm
ES AM Schedule: 8:00am-11:15am/12:15pm
ABC PM Schedule: 12:30/1:00pm-3:30pm
ES PM Schedule: 12:30/1:00pm-3:20pm
6th-10th Clubs/social activities will be held before school in the AM and PM.�

Assigned remote days/times are treated as regular school days.

What to Expect

Students are required to come to campus on assigned days (M-TH).
Students will be expected to be available during assigned school hours Monday through Friday.
Curriculum and Courseware will meet State requirements and NCAA approval for relevant grade levels .
Coursework is instructed by Pine Springs teachers & Pearson Online teachers.
Curriculum is inclusive for all learners.
Families in the Blended Academy are provided preference in the traditional school lottery. (grades 5-8)
Students are to be self-motivated and eager to learn!

Clubs & social events

At the Blended Academy we collaborate with our brick-and-mortar to provide similar project-based learning opportunities across all grade levels.

The Blended Academy works with our brick-and-mortar to provide a variety of social opportunities during and after school hours. In addition, clubs opportunities are made available and collaborated with our community schools.

Blended Academy students are welcomed to join all athletic programs grades 6-8th at the traditional middle grades building.

Future Planning

Pine Springs Prep is growing!

The Blended Academy will continue to expand each school year with another grade level.

The Blended Academy intends to move back to Holly Springs - anticipated 2026-2027 school year.

In the meantime, we are loving our 6th-10th grade home in Apex! (video tour)
